Success Stories: Citrus

One of the most popular business sectors for young entrepreneurs is the bar industry, but few bars become so popular as quickly as Citrus in Headingley.

Former Leeds Met students Philip Timms and Andrew McCormac started their dream in the most humble of buildings in Headingley four years ago. Through sheer hard work and determination the bar had quickly become so popular it had to move to a larger building.

Today they are one of the most popular bars/restaurants in Headingley with an extensive menu, stylish interior, a large and massively popular poolroom and fair prices, and have recently opened a second café in the Corn Exchange.

“We were determined to appeal to the large student base in Leeds. It is the continued niche development that has enabled us to successfully compete with the growing number of bars in the area”, says Philip Timms.
