How we can help

If you are a student or graduate of Leeds Met we can help you at each stage of the start-up process.

Our support includes:

• A tailored programme of support including workshops delivered by business professionals covering topics such as finance, sales, marketing and legal issues.
• One to one business advice from our dedicated business advisors.
• Access to funding, including ERDF grants.
• Annual competitions with prize money of up to £1500.
• Meet like minded people and develop a network of support via our regular networking events.
• The potential to combine your studies with starting up, through modules and placement years.
• Serviced flexible office accommodation in our Business Incubator and Innovation Showcase available as hot desk, rent-a-desk or rent-an-office.
• A resource centre for useful information and links to other support agencies.

Our funding

Business Start Up is part funded by the European and HEIF (Higher Education Innovation Fund). The project has attracted £105,000 of investment from the European Regional Development Fund as part of Europe's support for local economic development through the Yorkshire and Humber ERDF Programme 2007-13.

We work in partnership with Yorkshire's other Higher Education Institutions as part of the Graduate Entrepreneurship Project.
