The Cultural Studies subject area has a strong and evolving research profile. 

We have strengths in social and cultural theory, women's writing, twentieth-century literature, gender and cultural history, and media studies. Our academic team are experts in their fields and have received acclaim, both nationally and internationally for their work.

We are a lively place to undertake postgraduate study, with over forty students across the taught Masters programmes: MA English: Contemporary Literature and MA Social History, and a range of Research degrees: MRes, MPhil and PhD.
