Undergraduate Courses

Our courses provide excellent opportunities for you to learn more about your area of interest. You will by taught by expert staff that regularly present papers at conferences, produce books, and write journal articles.

You can spend one or two semesters studying in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand or you can teach English or help conserve turtles on one of our many international volunteering projects. We also encourage students to take advantage of the activities available through our external partners such as the BBC, Northern Ballet Theatre, and Festival Republic.

Postgraduate Courses

Whether you're fresh out of university, seeking promotion, or looking for a complete change of career, Cultural Studies provides a supportive and stimulating environment for you to study a postgraduate qualification or undertake your own research.

You will benefit from the expertise of our academic team, many of whom are active researchers and renowned in their field. You will also have the opportunity to take part in the Annual Postgraduate Student Conference where research papers are presented to colleagues and peers, as well as taking part in themed and interdisciplinary study days.
