Events during the Conference
There was a reception on the evening of Friday 6th July jointly hosted by the Mayor of Leeds and the Vice Chancellor of Leeds Metropolitan University. This took place at the University's impressive Old School Board building and was sponsored by Oxford University Press, and celebrated the launch of a new journal, Contemporary Women’s Writing. The conference dinner took place on the evening of Saturday 7th July, following a drinks reception hosted by the Doris Lessing Society. 
Hilary Kacser performed, “In Pursuit of the English: Rose” (A One-Woman Play), between 5pm and 6pm on the first day of the conference. Here are some images of Hilary in the role. Delegates very much enjoyed the performance.
