Maker's Mark Project

Students from Leeds Met have had their artwork projected onto the Queens Hotel in Leeds city centre as part of an international art link up.

The second and third year Graphic Arts and Design students were commissioned to produce the artwork as part of a campaign for bourbon brand Makers Mark, who are based in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.

The initiative builds on the links forged between Leeds and Louisville, who cemented a partnership to become Sister Cities in 2006.

The funded works include a range of paintings, sculpture, prints and animations and are currently on display in bars around Leeds city centre.

Alice Morgan, Lecturer in Graphic Arts and Design at Leeds Met, said, “This project was an excellent chance for our students to showcase their talents. We are really pleased that they had the freedom to work from the brief and create such outstanding pieces of work.”
