Biography
Andy has a PhD in estuarine ecology from Durham University with extensive professional experience in education, including 13 years in school teaching and three years running adult education classes in ecology, conservation and land management. He joined Leeds Metropolitan University in 1992. He has a lifelong interest in nature conservation and has served on the Council of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, including as Chair of the Conservation Committee, is on the executive committee of the Yorkshire Naturalists' Union and on the editorial board for their regular publications. He also tutors the Open University Level 3 course Evolution for the Yorkshire region. He is an academic member of the Landscape Institute.
Andy lectures in ecology, landscape science and GIS on landscape, garden design, planning and human geography courses.
