The Leeds School of Architecture, Landscape & Design
Proud of this long tradition of creative endeavour, the School today builds on traditional practice and embraces new media and technologies. Creativity, community engagement, sustainability and international perspectives are key components of all programmes including Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Urban Environmental Design, Garden Art and Design, Design and Design Culture. These are offered at undergraduate and postgraduate level including research awards. Where relevant, programmes have full professional recognition. A vibrant staff research and practice culture focused on interdisciplinary design, community and environmental art and sustainable architecture underpins academic study. Support to students is also provided within a customised building with a range of facilities including design studios with computers, study rooms and specialist areas as well as all the facilities afforded by the University’s Civic Quarter such as computer suites and library. The innovative approaches and high standards that mark out the School result from fostering creativity and experiment within clearly defined areas of study, whilst at the same time offering the broader view and exploring inter-relationships between disciplines.
