Mind the Gap Acting Company | I'm with Stupid
"some are born stupid, some achieve stupidness, and some have stupidness thrust upon 'em"
William Shakespeare(ish)
This March, Mind the Gap's Acting Company will be in residence, conducting a series of theatrical experiments in and around Leeds Met University that aim to shed light on the very nature and art of stupidity. They will examine stupidity as a life strategy; stupidity as a deliberate act. From their makeshift Arts Lab they will make field trips in search of Lab Rats to take part in all manner of pointedly pointless experiments.
In a wry turning of the tables where learning disabled people are researchers instead of the subjects of research, the company will be asking, is stupidity contagious? Is there a cure? Is it Art?
Preliminary research findings will be revealed on Thursday 13 March, 6.30pm. All tickets are £5.
Mind the Gap makes performances in which learning disabled and non-disabled artists work together as equals.
