Spring 2012
This is the very last programme from Leeds Met Gallery & Studio Theatre but it is not the end.
From April 2012 we will be known as Leeds Contemporary Arts. This decision was not solely for pragmatic reasons or even disenchantment of the work we had been doing, but for a growing passion and realisation of the potential to create memorable and inspiring experiences for all through siting of visual art in the public realm.
It does mean, however, we will no longer programme performance work in theatre spaces and so the current and final season has been curated to exemplify the range of work our reputation has been built on over the last 20 years - essential support for emerging performers sharing a platform with the more established. We have taken risks but trusted our vision and often selected work that was still under development at the time of going to print. This programme continues with our core values to offer the artist that most valuable of resources - time to experiment and present work still in its infancy. We believe these artists will continue to enrich and challenge the boundaries of contemporary theatre.
We playfully conclude the programme with a double bill to mark the end and begin again.
Our sincerest thanks to all staff, performers and audience we have had the pleasure of working with. We have welcomed your support over the years and hope you will stay with us for this new venture - we will be in touch.
