Welcome to the web pages for the Academic Registry at Leeds Metropolitan University.

The Academic Registry is responsible for a diverse range of activities relating to the quality assurance and standards of academic provision and the administration of students and their programmes of study. We provide information and guidance across the University to support strategic and operational planning; innovation in teaching and learning; and key government initiatives. The Academic Registry is responsible for the definitive list of students and courses in the University. In order to achieve the aims of this division we are divided into functional teams supported by a central administration team.

The Admissions team is responsible for the oversight of all applications to full-time undergraduate and sub-degree programmes. The team works closely with colleagues in Faculties and Schools to provide effective and efficient admissions service, which includes admissions guidance, advice and support to applicants. The team is responsible for all course and module descriptions.

The Planning team works closely with Faculty colleagues, using key data relating to students and courses in order to provide information and advice to the senior management of the University.

The Quality Enhancement and Development team is responsible for the academic regulatory framework and within it the assurance of quality and standards of all academic provision. The team has a key role in innovation and developments in teaching and learning, provides information and guidance on external regulatory issues, and provides substantial internal support and guidance on all aspects of quality.

The Student Registry together with Faculty and School colleagues is responsible for the administration of students and their programmes of study. This includes the registration and enrolment of students; maintenance of student information; administration of examinations; certification of awards; effecting of withdrawals and transfers; issue of documentation relating to students entitlements; and administration related to the Student Loan Company.

The Academic Registry exists to contribute to the achievement of the strategies and aims of the University. The Academic Registrar is Cath Orange. She is supported by the Central Administration team.
