Conferences & Events
We run a full programme of events to support assessment, learning and teaching throughout the year. Highlights include 'In at the Deep End', the three-day induction to the PGCHE in September and January; 'Inspiring Teaching' Masterclasses on topical issues by leading experts; sessions on enhancing your teaching with technology, run by the TEL Team; and workshops on developing your curriculum (including widening participation and internationalisation) and enhancing your teaching through research. We also offer Faculty-based workshops on peer observation, and designing blended and online learning. Forthcoming events
We are delighted to welcome again Gordon Joughin from the University of Wollongong, Australia on 22 - 31 March. Gordon is an Associate Professor in the Academic Development Unit at Wollongong and Visiting Professor here at Leeds Met.
Gordon will be delivering a workshop entitled 'Assessment 2020: Applying seven propositions for reforming assessment in courses and programmes'. Assessment 2020 has drawn on the expertise of 50 highly experienced assessment researchers, academic development practitioners and senior academic managers from Australia and overseas to identify current best thinking about the ways assessment will need to address immediate and future demands.
