Short film 'Edith', produced by undergraduate students at the Northern Film School last year, continues to receive industry awards both in the UK and internationally.
Recently it was voted an Audience Award by the attendees of the 9th International Film and Video Festival of the Beijing Film Academy.
Keith Dando, Senior Lecturer at the Northern Film School commented: "The 9th International Film and Video Festival of the Beijing Film Academy is a major student film festival where world class film schools put their best films into competition. It's a major achievement to win an award here, and especially gratifying when it is an audience award as they are always the final judges of any film. When our students have the talent to make a film that reaches out and touches people half the world away, we at the film school are delighted - our very purpose at the school is to make films that are seen and appreciated across the globe."
This trophy was added to the already received BBC 'Best of the North' Award and the 'Best of Post Production' Award it was given at the Exposures Film Festival in Manchester, as well as being selected for the Student Etudes Competition at the prestigious Plus CamerImage Festival in Poland for the film's cinematography.
The team behind the film were headed up by producer Kathryn Wilson, director Ian Pinder and writer Naomi Blyth-Kubota.
