Residential Officers

At Leeds Metropolitan University we pride ourselves on giving students a warm welcome and a sense of community. Our Residential Officer Team help develop the neighbourly atmosphere at our residences and are in place for the benefit and accessibility of all students in University residential accommodation. The Residential Officers (known as RO's) are responsible for the welfare and pastoral care of students living in residences and aim to promote a harmonious living environment, enhance student experience, and ensure wellbeing and safety.

There are opportunities to get involved in many initiatives undertaken by our Residential Officer team, from inter-halls football tournaments to sponsored body waxes to student led committees and campaigns, and not forgetting the social functions all in the name of fundraising for charity.

All team members are dedicated, professional and well trained people who operate as a team to help you solve any area of concern about your accommodation. They will give advice, mediate, deal with emergencies or even just give time for a chat. They have all been involved in University life in some shape or form and understand the wide variety of issues faced by new students.

Leeds Metropolitan University Residential Officers are based at Opal One and Two, Kirkstall Brewery, Carnegie Village, Sugarwell Court, and Woodhouse Flats only.

Residential Officers have daily office hours where students can drop in or book appointments, in addition to an on call provision that is in place every evening and weekend of the tenancy period. 

The RO's are really eager to get to know their students, so stop in and introduce yourselves once you move in.

Sugarwell Court
Location: Between the Gym and Bishopdale One   
Opening hours: Mon/Wed/Fri, 16:00 - 19:00

Woodhouse Flats
Location: C Block ground floor
Opening hours: Tues, 16:00 - 17:00

Opal One & Two
Location:  Opal Two Reception
Opening hours: Mon - Thu, 16:00 - 21:30 and, 12:00 - 15:00
